About

People. People important to you, people unimportant to you cross your life, touch it with love or carelessness and move on. There are people who leave you and you breathe a sigh of relief and wonder why you ever came into contact with them. There are people who leave you and you breathe a sigh of remorse and wonder why they had to go away and leave such a gaping hole. Children leave parents, parents leave friends. Students leave teachers. Acquaintances move on. Friends love and move on. You think of the many who have moved into your hazy memory. You look on those present and wonder.

I believe this is all part of a master plan. People move in and out of our lives, and each leaves his mark on the other. You find you are made up of bits and pieces of all who ever touched your life, and you are more because of it, and you would be less if they had not touched you.

This is what I KNOW about myself for sure above…I am a mix of all who have touched my life and that is what this BLOG will be used for! I will reflect each day on all who come in and out of my life.

BUT I am also a K-8 Spanish teacher, a yoga instructor, a technology enthusiast dedicated to trying anything new to connect my students and myself to the rest of the world. I am married to a handsome, intelligent, loving man who believes in me and gives me plenty of time to grow and experience all these wonderful digital tools. We have two awesome dogs that remind us to keep waggin our tails more and bark less. I love to exercise, cook, keep things clean, speak Spanish, practice yoga and help others any way that I can!

  1. Hi Lauren,
Great blog! I appreciate your honesty and your willingness to share your thinking about teaching and living. I look forward to following your blog. Thanks for sharing and celebrating the little joys that our students bring to us each day. Yes, we are lucky!
